A new report released by the House Oversight and Accountability Committee has revealed that President Donald Trump, former first lady Melania Trump, senior adviser Jared Kushner and adviser Ivanka Trump failed to disclose more than 100 gifts from foreign governments worth nearly $300,000 during his presidency. The report, which uncovered a pattern of non-disclosure, identified 117 unreported foreign gifts given to the Trump family, ranging from a life-size portrait of the former President of El Salvador to a $3,755 gold golf driver from the late Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe.

The report also revealed that White House officials may have given inaccurate advice on reporting requirements, raising concerns about whether foreign governments had used the unreported gifts to influence the U.S. Policy positions Furthermore, it was found that Melania Trump sought to “recall from NARA diamond earrings given by the Czech Republic, valued at $470, but wanted to avoid the public disclosure of the item.” Ivanka Trump and her family also received 33 unreported gifts in total, worth over $80,000.

These gifts which exceeded the $415 limit for personal gifts from foreign governments should have been disclosed and turned over to the National Archives. The report thus highlights Trump family's disregard for federal regulations as well as potential undue influence by foreign governments.
