The efforts of former President Donald Trump to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia have been under investigation by a special grand jury in Atlanta. Audio recordings of Trump's phone calls to Georgia officials, such as House Speaker David Ralston and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, have been presented to the Grand Jury. Trump reportedly asked the officials to take action to overturn Joe Biden’s win in the state. Evidence of false claims of election fraud, threats and harassment targeting Georgia election workers and the creation of an alternative slate of Republican electors has also been examined.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani T. Willis is now considering whether Trump and his associates broke the law in their attempts to overturn election results. The grand jury has recommended the indictment of several people, but it remains unknown whether Trump is included in it. While Willis has yet to indicate if Trump is a target of the investigation, the grand jury report, partially released last month, stated that there was no widespread fraud in the 2020 contest and encouraged the prosecution of witnesses who may have lied to the panel.

Trump's allegedly illegal attempts to subvert the Georgia election results have been met with intense scrutiny. Audio recordings of Trump's phone calls to the state officials served as a key piece of evidence in the grand jury investigation, and the consequences of Trump's actions are yet to be seen.
