South African rapper Costa Titch has died at the age of 28 after collapsing on stage at a Johannesburg music festival. The rapper, who hails from Nelspruit, is best known for his single “Big Flexa”, which went viral on TikTok in 2021. His family released an Instagram statement announcing his passing, although an official cause of death was not immediately revealed.

Videos circulating online showed Costa Titch falling over twice while performing at Ultra Music Festival in Nasrec, a suburb of Johannesburg. An individual rushed to help the rapper who regained his footing briefly before collapsing again. Heartbroken Festival organizers issued a statement expressing their shock and sadness over his death.

Costa Titch was an up-and-coming artist whose music interweaves traditional South African culture with trap beats. A remix version of his hit single “Big Flexa” was later released with musician Akon. His death comes shortly after fellow South African rapper AKA died in Durban last month after being shot outside a restaurant. Fans and fellow artists have shared their sadness and dismay over Costa Titch’s untimely passing.

The family of Tsobanoglou thanked the public for their love and support and asked for prayers.
